We have had a fantastic first week at school in Hedgehog Class! We have been so busy settling in, exploring our environment and getting to know each other!
Here are some photographs of all the exciting things we have been up to!
We had a fantastic final morning at Wiggery Wood for this year! The Year 2’s joined us and explored our side of the woods! We made dens, special potions, wooden photo frames and toasted marshmallows on the fire to make yummy smores! As a special treat we also enjoyed popcorn before we walked back to the bus!
A lovely busy morning!
On Thursday 13th July, children from Key Stage Two took part in the District Sports event at Hedingham School. All of the children were brilliant and showed great determination, resilience and team work. After a day of close competition, we came a very credible 4th in the small schools category! Well done to all involved and to Mr Riccio for the fantastic coaching. Bring on next year!
With Sport’s Day approaching, we spent the time at Wiggery Wood creating obstacle courses for our friends to complete! We worked cooperatively in teams and used our imaginations to build the obstacle courses. We worked on lots of skills including balancing, aiming and speed. The obstacle course were without doubt, the best ones ever made at the woods! Well done Year 2’s!
Squirrel Class really enjoyed Garden Day on Friday, completing a wide variety of activities. These included helping with the maintenance of the school garden, planting new plants, designing their own perfect garden, creating a garden on the Purple Mash programme, creating scultures from pebbles, pebble painting, measuring trees and plants and lots more!
Wow! What a busy day we have had today in Hedgehog Class! We began the day by giving our outdoor area a good clean and we were excited to see some special tyres for us to plant in and explore! We then got busy planting flowers and seeds and decorating pebbles and pots. We made pictures and patterns with the stones on the grass and even had a go at using them to make an outline of each other!
In the afternoon we enjoyed some more planting and we had a go at building a giant scarecrow! We had to think carefully about how to join it together and how to make it stable enough so that it didn’t fall over!
We had a fantastic day spent outside and we would like to say a massive thank you to all the parents who brought in pots, soil, flowers and seeds for us to use!
